Grrrreat Links!

These are links to things that I like...

The Three Dog Bakery offers the yummiest of yummies. My dad and my grandma and grandpa took me to the one in New Orleans! They made me a cookie with my name on it for Christmas. I love them.

Pet Friendly Travel...

My grandma and grandpa took my daddy to New Orleans for his 29th birthday and again for his 30th the following year. Dad likes New Orleans. But, there was no way I was going to let all of them go without me. Luckily, there are some pet friendly hotels and inns in Louisiana. I don't understand why all hotels aren't pet friendly. Really, I'm far cleaner and better behaved than most human beings--especially those little tiny ones with the big heads and sticky fingers. What are those things anyway? Are they like puppies? Do they grow up to be big fleshy, lumpy humans? I guess I'll never know. But, I've gotten off topic. Pet friendly hotels in New Orleans and the surrounding area...

The Hotel Monaco What a nice place. It's a great big tall house with lots of floors and rooms. You can even ride in a box that goes up and down. I think they're called elevators. It seems, humans are used to these things. But, I had never seen one before. It took me a couple of times to get used to the idea. But, I soon found I really riding in that box. This hotel is right near the Vieux Carre. Did you know that at any given moment, you can find a piece of fried chicken on the street anywhere in New Orleans? Ahhh, the things you humans miss. Of course, no one lets me eat the chicken I find, but oh what fun it is to find it. There are all sorts of nice smells and things to see in New Orleans and there are soooooooo many friendly people who will pat you and pay attention to you if you have four feet. So, if you're going to New Orleans, this is a great place to stay if you have a puppy dog or even a smelly ol' cat. This four diamond hotel boasts the elegant "Cobalt Room" and offers many services and ammenities including a pet service that provides a pet bed and doggy turn-down service. And, if you don't have a doggy, they'll bring you a goldfish in a bowl. I got a goldfish of my very own to watch while we stayed there. So, you don't even have to be a human to get a fish.

Twenty Four Thirty Nine Fairfield in Shreveport is a lovely bed and breakfast. And, the breakfast was quite tasty. The charming owners have created a homey and welcoming place for travelers of the two and four legged variety.

The Cloutier Townhouse owned by Conna Cloutier is filled with beautiful antique paintings and furniture which my daddy greatly admired. Conna goes out of her way to make sure her guests are comfortable. Directly near the heart of Natchitoches and the Cane River, the Cloutier Townhouse offers terrific food and interesting company. While there, I got the chance to play with Conna's dog Bitsy--I even got to eat some of her dinner. It was okay, though, Miss Cloutier offered it to me.

The Butler Greenwood Plantation in St. Francisville is an interesting place. We stayed in the Dovecote, and while the stairs were somewhat tricky for both myself and my clumsy dad, the plantation afforded a nice resting place in St. Francisville. A visit to St. Francisville is worth your while, if only to see all the beautiful old plantation homes.
